Not sure if Admin is on vacation, but I haven't heard back on two issues I have regarding user conduct. Maybe a poll will help me out.
I was attacked by joulesbeef in an article he wrote using my name linking my article into the subject of his article, published to all of newsvine. Joulesbeef's article is here:
Now I might be wrong, but is it OK for newsvine users to do this? He didn't have my permission, and I also think it qualifies as user harassment.
Second issue: Admin restored a comment I deleted in the below article, which reads: "show me something below defending the bonuses.... child pornography doesn't count, gotta be creative about it..."
Political comparisons to "Child pornography" is vulgar within it's context, isn't it? And a violation of the Newsvine User Agreement, stating users will not: "Post User Content that would be harmful to minors in any manner."
Of course, I have been wrong before, as it took me awhile to realize that profanity constitutes excellence in journalism.
So, I ask that you please help me adjust my journalism compass (once again!) by taking this poll.
Poll questions pasted below in case they both don't appear on the right >>>>
1: Are "Child Pornography" comments meant to inflame the discussion acceptable on newsvine?
2: Do users have the right to attack you and your articles in articles they write?
Thanks newsvine users. I will defer to your judgement.
