Bigot: A person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices ; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance.
Less than a generation ago, the term "Gay Marriage" didn't exist. Today, if you oppose gay marriage, you are labeled a bigot by the minority of people who somehow believe opposition to gay marriage is an act of bigotry, and an act of discrimination. If you look at the gay-attack machine that went after Miss California for stating her beliefs, you will know exactly what I mean.
From The New Conservative:
"I am outraged that such attacks against NON-GAYS are not classified as "hate crimes" - a protection that a gay-rights advocate can claim if ever attacked, physically or otherwise... There is unequal footing, and it does nothing but add to the frustration and outrage on both sides."
People who oppose gay marriage have that right. They are not bigots. They are Americans who love this country and who believe in values and morality.
Lets examine some of the "intolerance" from those that support gay marriage over Miss California's beliefs;
- Perez Hilton, the celebrity blogger who called Miss California Carrie Prejean a "@!$%#," and worse, for her opposition to gay marriage.
- Effective immediately - please cease and desist attributing your petty, ignorant hatred of gay people to me. In a "letter from Satan": http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/blogs/crazedandconfused/2009/05/a-letter-from-satan-to-miss-ca.php
- Labeling Miss California as a bigot
- MSNBC allowed a guest to call her vile names, and the far-left cast of characters on that cable network has delighted in mocking and demeaning Prejean almost nightly.
My message to Gay people: You are being intolerant. Not everyone has to agree with your position on marriage. Your hateful attitude and intolerance of Miss California fits the definition of bigotry.
This is AMERICA! And according to my opinion... you have no right to destroy traditional marriage. That doesn't make me a bigot. It makes me an American who believes in traditional marriage.
I believe by definition, gays are practicing bigotry by being both hateful and intolerant of people who believe marriage is between a man and a woman. Simple opposition to gay marriage doesn't qualify as bigotry.
Are gays practicing bigotry by hatefully attacking people who believe in traditional marriage?
Please take the poll..............
